I painted this for my daughter’s bedroom a while back. She asked for something feminine and floral but a little abstract. I had not tried anything quite like this before, and I have to say that I really, REALLY had fun painting this piece. At the time that I painted it, I had been working really hard on the illustrations for Liona’s Tattered Tutu and some of that work had become a bit tedious…fun but a little stressful at times.
This painting was so relaxing for me to do!
I named it Beautiful Dreamer because it looks so light and airy…a little bit misty and fairy-like to me.
Here’s a close up of some of the details.
I used a brush, palette knife, and did a bit of splattering, too.
You will likely see more pieces in this style in the future. I hope you like it!
