I spent an afternoon last week cleaning out and rearranging in our extra room. This room holds a lot of creative…um…stuff 🙂 and it gets pretty messy at times. It’s a room that my family shares and we spend a lot of time in this space. As you probably know, we home school our two children, so their work areas are in the same room with my work area and all of my husband’s guitars and his desk and anything else that we don’t know where to put in the main part of our house.
I don’t function very effectively in clutter so I had to do some organizing in my area. While it’s all pretty and clean, I decided to share some photos with you! (It doesn’t stay clean like this all the time, just to let you know 🙂 )
This is my desk with all my brushes, paint, schooling books, weekly planner, easel, and computer.
Here is another shot where you can see the file cabinet that I painted with chalk paint a few years ago, and the wall map on the right. (Remember this is also a school room 🙂 )
Some of my favorite vintage clip art and burlap banners to inspire and make pretty 🙂
A closer look at my paints and inks and all that fun stuff!
And the other side of my spot where I hung my Vintage Inspirations pieces. I’m keeping them for myself 🙂
Do you have a designated area of your home where you create? I’d love to see it! Share a link with me in the comments if you do !

Our extra room is called the study. Has our laptops, used to have a TV,but it died awhile back. Jesse has a desk. I have our old kitchen table in the middle of the room. It serves as my desk, extra table when we have a few over, the best place to play cards, and for me to make a mess on. It also seems to catch a lot of every thing. We also have a futon in here for when we have company, but Penni (our dog) thinks it belongs to her ?
