Our Refuge (Psalm 46)

Psalm 46

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.  (Psalm 46:1-3)

I’ve been playing with my palette knife again and trying some human figures. I never paint people! I get all scared and wimpy when I am asked to paint portraits or human figures, so I figured it was time to learn. I have to say that I enjoyed the challenge and hope to do some more practicing in the next couple of weeks during my vacation time.

I named this one ‘Our Refuge’ because as I was painting it, it reminded me of Psalm 46 and the confidence and strength Christians can have if we will just kneel and ask Him for it.

Hope you like it!
