Lesson 5: Create in Collections

A collection or series doesn’t have to be the same subject. What defines it as a collection is up to you. You could explore small sizes and create a mini collection. You may paint on paper and create a series that way. There must be some common thread but it does not have to be the subject. Here are a few ideas for collections.

  • florals in containers
  • animals in your local area
  • paintings on small square canvases
  • line drawings on paper
  • abstract explorations in a specific color palette
  • local wildflowers
  • children playing
  • your favorite foods
  • fashion in the early 1900’s
  • song birds
