How I Use Florals to Warm Up Before Painting Challenging Subjects

Last week I shared why I believe in mastering one subject before jumping around—and today I’m giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how I still use that mastered subject (florals!) in my own painting practice.

Whether I’m warming up for a creative session or working through a tougher subject like birds or landscapes, I always come back to florals to get in the flow.

In this video, I’m sharing how I paint based on what I feel—whether I’m craving fun, a stretch, or a full-on challenge—and how you can use the same approach to build confidence and creative momentum.

Great insight!! I have not found my one thing yet… I do know I don’t like a lot of details and time consuming subjects.
