This Week’s Featured Friend: Jade Made Jewelry

Got a new friend to share with you this week! Jade is a sweet Christian friend of mine, and she has some really beautiful pieces! If you love trendy jewelry, you’ll really want to check this out! I asked Jade to tell us in her own words a little about her business. Here’s what she said:

About three years ago I wanted a necklace from a company that sold jewelry. The only problem was it was out of my price range. Way out of my price range. One day I went to Hobby Lobby and just decided to make it myself. Of course there was a good deal of trial and error with doing something new, but I’m always up for a good challenge. Once I made it, and many others, I had people ask me to make some for them, so I did! At the time I was working a full time job and I really didn’t have time to keep up the jewelry making, so it just got “pushed under the rug.”
Last year my family decided to move with my husband’s job. We moved our family to Georgia and began work as a missionary family. Initially I hadn’t made any new friends yet, and was missing my friends in Tennessee, so in my boredom, I decided I wanted to try and make jewelry again for a hobby. Once again I had people ask me to make them something, so I did! And I kept on and on and on until I soon decided that I could make this a job for myself.
I had an online  competition to help name my business and my sister won with the suggestion “Jade Made Jewelry.” The past year has been very exciting for me starting my own business. As of right now, I’m working on getting my  jewelry in store number three. I never dreamed all of this would happen from just a hobby. Most of my jewelry ideas come from customer requests: “Do you have a penguin?” “Can you do this?” “Can you make it like that?” “Is it available in this color?”
I love trying to make new things and I love to get new ideas and I love to have something to bless my friends with as a “happy” just because its a Thursday. This business has blessed me and my family in so many ways that I can’t even begin to list them all.  I am able to bring in an income and still stay at home. I’m able to take off for a month to travel to South and Central America to teach the Gospel to others. I can just take a break and focus on other things that bring me joy.
Jade Made Jewelry was just something that accidentally happened. It wasn’t a dream of mine and it wasn’t planned. It was just something that God blessed me with. I hope that you will check it out and find something that makes your day a little happier.

Here are just a few examples of her beautiful work!
