Why I Love Mixed Media Art
When I began exploring mixed media art, I knew I had found something that was going to change my way of creating art! I do not remember where I first saw a painting that incorporated more than just paint, but I do remember that I was very intrigued by the work of artists like: Kelly Rae Roberts, Christy Tomlinson, Juliette Crane, and Toni Burt.
The thing that I loved most about what these artists were doing was all the cool things they were able to use like: patterned papers, fabric, lace, pastels, markers, stencils, bubble wrap, pens, ink, and vintage materials!! The freedom to play and create some really amazing effects using a large variety of mediums is what pulled me in!
